OP mentioned the Florida Panhandle. None of the beaches in NC compare to the Panhandle. Destin, Panama City, and the 30A beaches are hard to beat. The sand is like sugar and the waters are emerald green in color. That area has a laid back, southern feel yet offers an abundance of amenities. Amenities include casual and fine dining restaurants, outlet shopping, golf, deep sea fishing, etc. If you ever get the chance to visit the area, I recommend eating at Captain Anderson's in Panama City.

Sadly I think you misunderstood ,I never said I
didn't like SP , I visit all the time.

Just don't believe it is what the OP is looking for, you just
took it personally and jumped on the defensive.

Nope, not at all. I don't believe Spothport is what the OP is looking for either, as I've said multiple times (not sure why you keep rehashing that point). I just don't want your incorrect comments to be on this site for others to come across in the future. S'port has lots of great, varied restaurants, a thriving music scene and a vibrant visual arts scene. Fact.

I used to visit the FL Panhandle regularly a few years ago and have visited the OBX almost every year of my life. I have also visited beaches on five of seven continents (excepting Australia and Antarctica). It is true that the Panhandle sand is pretty amazing - a brilliant white powder almost like confection sugar such as I have seen nowhere else so far. It is also true that the water is usually an amazing brilliant green. The problem is that if you go swimming or body surfing (as I love to do), you emerge as a brilliant green color yourself.
