There at least 5 opponents to the incumbent Republican Congressman David Rouzer. The major ones profiled in the article below indicate some of the diversity in the Seventh District. Several are minority, either Black or Lumbee Indian, several are military veterans, business owners or teachers.

The Seventh District encompasses Wilmington, Brunswick and New Hanover Counties which have many northern transplants. It also include the inland Counties like Columbus and Bladen which have a rural, agricultural character. It includes part of Cumberland County where the economy is dominated by the military at Fort Bragg. Further, it contains Robeson County with a unique, predominant Lumbee Indian population. While I would bet on Rouzer retaining his seat, I am hoping for significant challenges.
