My mother lives in Calabash/Sunset Beach area, she's 86 and needs a new PCP (Primary Care Physician)
her current PCP is retiring.

It seems impossible to find her a new PCP. Many PCPs are booked and not accepting new patients.

Can anybody make a recommendation about a decent PCP who are accepting new patients. Driving as far as Wilmington is not a problem for a good recommendation. A PCP who specializes in Geriatrics would be a bonus too.

Can anyone help??

Thanks

Have you tried the Little River, SC area? The are good PCP's in Wilmington, but that is an awful drive at her age.
One example is Dr Lisa Mount with Carolina Health in Little River. She is qualified in Geriatric Medicine.

She is pretty functional and will drive into Wilmington to shop. I do agree with you that a decent MD nearby would be ideal. Thanks for the reference. I will look her up and place a call.

Much appreciated.

I apologize if I am pointing out the obvious, but has your Mother consulted her retiring PCP as to their recommendations for a new PCP.
My family has had two recently retire and they both suggested who we might use as a replacement.
