Are Coastal Real Estate Sales Seasonal?
A highlight of the Crystal Coast area.
By: Bill Hitchcock

We all know that the beach can be a cold and desolate place during the winter and hot and bustling in the summer. So you would think that real estate sales would be just as extreme and seasonal.

The graph below reveals the quarterly percent averages of the over-all annual sales. This information was derived from the past 5 year sales in the Crystal Coast MLS system. Surprisingly, It's the second quarter (April-May-June) with the most sales.

Actually, the first quarter sales would be far less if it wasn't for March-That's when sales traditionally spike upward a lot. The same holds true for October in the fourth quarter. July traditionally marks a low point in sales.
