I guess it is just what we are used to and have grown up with. All I can say being from a place all my life that got snow that in MIchigan the first snowfall each year people drive like fools and forget how to drive in the snow. It isn't that hard if you follow one word..slow. If you think you can drive the speed limit on snow you will be sorry.
I really had to laugh when you brought up the matter of snow and hurricanes. It really does all depend on what you are used to. I can drive in the snow it's the other people on the road I am worried about. Hurricanes, you're right, doesn't phase us in the least.
Anyway, it was just beautiful, wasn't it?

We received a dusting here on Pleasure Island. For anyone interested, here are a few snow pictures from Carolina Beach & Kure Beach.

I haed to laugh today because in the Washington are and some of Virginia they got some of that ice storm. They showed the President saying something about school being called of over a little ice. Then he said he may have to train some people in what people go through in Illinos. I had to laugh because being from MIchigan last week I was really wondering why they called off school when we never saw a snoe flake. What really made me mad was that the kids all had to go to school on Sat to make up for it yet this last Monday they had off. I really don't think they need to have school on Sat taking family time away. Make it up another time

I'm from Chicago....... this winter so far I think TOTAL we've had like 20-30 inches...... it is driving me NUTSSSSSS. I'm so friggin sick of snow!! I WISH I lived in NC again! I drove home from work in the snow for almost an entire week. I got so tired of driving behind people who were freaking out from the snow. THAT'S what gets me. Some people who are from AROUND here don't know how to drive in snow, and then they cause a big pile up or something! UGH.......

THey should have a course in driving on ice and snow when you're taught how to drive. Seriously. Even people who live in the south should have to go through a course like that. SO that IF they ever do visit up north they'll at least have the KNOWLEDGE to know what to do :P
