Hi!! I live in New York, but I am looking to move in a couple of years to North Carolina, and I just wanted to know what's the best area since I am a city girl. I lived in Florida, for 7 years and left this past November, couldn't take the heat and the to quiet life for me.

If you can't stand the heat, you need to go to the mountains. Ashe County (Jefferson Landing is a gated community but is very isolated by the New River.) would be one of the coolest counties, but if you like city life, I would suggest Blowing Rock. If you google the area in Northwest North Carolina, you will find many new developments.

Just saw your reference to being too quiet. Greensboro or Winston-Salem may be more your style. I believe that the college town of Greenville has quite a night life also. Just look for the college towns. Nobody else here is energetic enough for more noise. We are all too busy working to stay out late.
