Now Texas can just stay in their crappy Big 12 conference which does not even have Nebraska anymore. Texas only competition now is Oklahoma. What a joke!

Texas... scared of the Pac-10? You mean the team that has had 10 straight years of 10 win seasons? How many schools can say that? Sure, they had a down year this year-- but they will be roaring back next year. I love how Texas has one down year and suddenly all the morons come out and think Texas is a crappy program. Ridiculous.
Texas and Oklahoma didn't join the Pac-10 because they could make more money in the Big 12. They share the big bucks in the Big 12-- so why join a conference that will net them less revenue? They would compete with the best of them on a regular basis in the Pac-10 and probably win the conference often.
As for no competition in the Big 12 besides OU? Ever heard of the following programs? (I'll put their records by them this year so you can see):
Missouri (10-2)... ranked #12 in BCS poll
Oklahoma State (10-2)... ranked #14 in BCS poll
Texas A&M (9-3)... ranked #17 in BCS poll
Texas Tech (7-5)
Kansas State (7-5)
Baylor (7-5)
This is going to be the most exciting off-season I've ever experienced as a Texas fan. We have the money and cachet to load up on the best available coordinators, position coaches, and assistants -- all at once! We can basically have our pick of those folks at the pinnacle of their career.
And who wouldn't want to come? Just look at our last two DCs: one is coaching in the National Championship and the other getting his first HC job at one of the best programs in the nation. Heck, even if you don't get hired for a tier-1 head coaching job after 3 years at Texas -- you can probably count on Mack Brown being loyal and sticking with you for 10+ years. Really, there is no downside.
So we should be able to get the best -- all the best -- and all at one time. It's a rare opportunity to build a coaching dream team. And unlike when a new head coach is hired, coordinators are coming in to win right away and work with the talent you already have. They are looking at quick 2-3 year timeframes to have their performance evaluated, or move on to the next stage in their career.

Texas is not scared to join the Pac-10. We all know that Texas makes the most money in BIG XII, so why would we want to leave? Would you quite your job for another that pays you 2 bucks cheaper?? As far as competition goes, the Big XII usually ranks 2nd behind the SEC. USC dominates the Pac 10. So if Texas joined the Pac 10 it would be the same situation as now in the Big XII. Texas and Ou fighting to Big XII crown or Texas and USC fighting for Pac 10 crown. You obviously dont know the Big XII cause its always been a Texas/ou fight for the conference crown. As for the Pac 10 and how super strong they are, USC has the last 5 or 6 wins for the conference in BCS games. USC won or shared 7 of the last 9 conference titles. Oregon, just of late, has won the last two. Keep in mind Texas dosent need your respect. But you bes respect Texas! Now go bandwagon Oregon.
With these new coaches, we should have one hell of a season next year.
I overlooked another position, I didnt know was empty, WR coach Bobby Kennedy went to Colorado. His replacement is from Kansas, Darrell Wyatt also a Texas native. Alabama's Bo Davis is also in the mix of possible fits for Texas at the DT coach. Make those moves Longhorns and see what (Coach) Brown can do you for you coaches!!!

Texas was not too chicken to join the PAC10 ;it just has too great a deal being n the big 12. Look at what college program made the most money during the last years. In fact it is the top scholl having surpassed Notre Dame. Do you really think that the PA 10 has any attrcatio for them. If they change it certainly will not be the PAC10 without a very favorable deal more than matchig what they have now. Do you really think that the money doen't matter;of course it doers which is why Texas' sports programs have gained so much.
The University of Texas has struck a 20-year, $300 million deal with ESPN for a new, 24-hour network that will broadcast Longhorn sports and some non-athletic content such as campus musical performances.
