NAIA programs are geared more toward smaller schools and have far less restrictive rules than their NCAA counterparts.

They also allow their member schools play more games in basketball than the NCAA. When I was in Tennessee, I saw quite a bit of NAIA basketball and it was pretty good. Of course, a number of the schools - Belmont, Lipscomb, etc - have since moved to NCAA Division 1.

I'm certainly not anti-NAIA. Those schools you mention were definitely worthy in hoops. There have been teams of recent that played NAIA and made a big splash into the NCAA. However, for that poster to think Carson-Newman was somehow stronger in NAIA was a little strange to me.

My alma mater, North Alabama (UNA), is moving to FCS (formerly I-AA). We are waiting on an up-coming (seems to be a done deal) with the Ohio Valley Conference. So, I'm paying attention to them a little more this year. Our former in-state rival Jacksonville State competes in the OVC, also.
