Anyone think that MSU overrated? Should not have won the ND game, the fake FG should have been called for delay of game, got lucky with Wisco, Iowa whooped them. And now Purdue?
Wouldnt go as far as say overrated. They are just a gritty football team that has won some tough games. Ima Texas and I would agree that they were way WAY overrated at the start of the season.
Happy to see some other team besides OSU/Wisc doin something good in the Big Ten in the last couple of years. Contrats to MSU they deserve it.
They were overrated before the Iowa beatdown but now they're right about where they should be. They're a good team but not elite...actually, I don't think there is an elite team this year.

Auburn beat Kentucky by 3. They beat Miss State by 3. Clemson took them to overime. Oerogon looked awful against California. TCU struggled with SDSU.
Last year Alabama had some really close ones. The Tennessee game comes to mind.
Every team has a few close calls. Doesn't mean they are overrated.
Michigan State is not overrated because they struggled with Purdue. Purdue nearly went to Oregon last year and beat them, they did beat Ohio State. It is not as though Purdue is Montana State or something.

I had season's tickets and saw EVERY Spartan home game this year and it was a BLAST. Especially the last game against Purdue. These guys are NOT overrated. They clearly outplayed Wisconsin on BOTH SIDES of the ball and Wisconsin has a very good football team.
Yea they laid an egg against Iowa and that is the only game where they just did not show up.
The offense is loaded at all the skill positions and Kurt Cousins and maturing into a pro style quarterback. All their wide receivers and running backs are potential game breakers. The offensive line has matched up against everybody they've played except Iowa, who might have the best defensive line in the Big Ten.
And the Notre Dame game was pure coaching genius.
That was a game in past seasons that Spartans would have lost. Under coach D'Antonio has these guys playing with confidence.
If anything the Spartans don't get the respect they deserve in the national media. They've got one loss in one of the toughest conferences in the country.
MSU has more talent on the team than the entire Big East combined. Talk about overrated.
