The neighborhood around the Cotton Bowl isn't THAT bad though. I just think a lot of UT and OU fans freak out because they're not used to seeing black people in large numbers.
I worked in an inner city school with a large percentage of minorities for decades, so that doesn't bother me.

I've been to both games. OU/TX (TX/OU) is better because of the state fair and because of the fact that the fans are split at the 50 yard line.

UGA/UF (UF/UGA) doesn't have the festive atmosphere of the state fair but it is still good. However, the fans are quartered in the stadium and that is definitely not as good as the Red River game.

However, the Cocktail party does have one tradition that the Red River Game doesn't. (at least when I went some years ago) Towards the end of the game, the mounted police come out and ring the stadium. It was pretty impressive.
