I was in section 116... Seemed lot there were a lot of sooner fans in my section.
At least after the beatdown we could enjoy the state fair. I couldn't find the fried bubblegum though... did anyone see that this year?
Yes, we walked down by the big horse barn arena and saw a stand selling it on the other side of the big craft/junk tent across the walkway. Didn't get any though - somebody told us it was only fried marshmallows (kinda like the Longhorns were Saturday).
We enjoyed the fair after the game, the score notwithstanding.
We even enjoyed driving back to Round Rock in the rain - got home to find 2.3" in our rain gauge. That's more rain than we've had total since January. It was amazing to see some ponds filling up!
As OU will get their own beating again from the Longhorns in the near future.
That's the story behind this great rivalry, and has been for decades.
I wouldn't want it any other way, and would venture to say y'all wouldn't either.....what with Nebraska gone.
Beware of your little brothers in Stoolwater, they might be pretty darn good too. I think they'll beat Texas here Saturday.
Here's me paying off last year's $5 bet with a local restaurant owner (an OU fan) - five $1 Sacajawea coins glued to a Texas background with the score printed. He put it on a shelf above his bar:
It appears the Sooners are the Kings of the Southwest......not monetarily but certainly in terms of exposure!
