They have a pretty good chance of that, they have TCU at home--that's about the only decent opponent left on their schedule. I guess Wyoming is not too bad, but that's another home game.
No game is a given. Even if it is in a "weak" conference....
Last season I cleverly pointed out that Nevada was better than Boise on this board before they even played (Boise's only loss last season):

Why would I put Boise ahead of Nevada? Both of their strengths of schedule are exactly the same, and Nevada has one more win than Boise.
Nevada is 6-0
Boise is 5-0
Nevada has beaten a terrible BYU team, and a good Cal team
Boise has beaten a terrible Virginia Tech team, and a good Oregon State team
Nevada's quarterback Kaepernick has passed for 1321 yards this season and rushed for an additional 639 yards
Boise's quarterback Moore has passed for 1336 yards this season and rushed for an additional -15 yards
I see no reason, other than "media hype" to put Boise ahead of Nevada this year. Why do you think they are better? And remember...
1. Nevada has more wins (as shown above)
2. Nevada has better stats (as shown above)
3. Nevada has a similar, if not better strength of schedule (as shown above)
And don't give me the "Oh but they beat good BCS teams in the past!" thing because I'm only ranking my teams based off this year's performance.
...But I got a lot of flack from people saying I was insane and stupid... until Nevada beat them. =)
This year I'm confident Boise will win out... TCU has a slight chance to spoil their plans-- but with losses to Baylor and SMU already and a defense ranked 35th in the country (as compared to 2010 when they were ranked #1 in the country in defense) I don't think it is going to happen. Boise is ranked #11 in the country in defense... also remember, they are playing at Boise State this year-- Boise hasn't lost at home since 2001...
No one familiar with WAC football would have thought that game was going to be an easy one for Boise last year. Nevada has been really good in recent years.
Boise has a much easier schedule this year, but that will probably wreck their chances even if they run the table. Assuming they do, I'm hoping they will at least get another high profile bowl game similar to the one with Oklahoma.

That was also a very experienced Nevada team that had graduating players who had never beaten Boise...they were highly motivated to beat Boise.
However, unlike last season, no such team like that exists on Boise's schedule this year. Wasnt Nevada ranked at some point last season as well?
They'll be a 20+ point favorite against TCU next week and that's their "toughest" game left. The only thing that's helping Boise right now is Georgia winning, but if they had played today and not the 1st game of the season, the games a lot closer and UGA may even end up winning.

I'm sure they will be....
