This is just the beginning of a long long journey for the families and for the people connected to this story.

It just saddens me to think of this mishap.

Most of the nation had such respect for PSU.
"Most of the nation" was unaware of the Godlike status of Joe Paterno.

(Mod edit: off topic statement removed) The point is, the school will survive. I see you didn't mention the U of CO's sex scandal that I brought up. That too involved rape; in at least one case a teenage minor girl was involved. Penn State will not crumble to the ground. Even Penn State is more than football.

Yes, Paterno is the problem. Paterno has been told he was God for so long, he probably believed it.
If you knew ANYTHING about Paterno, you'd know how humble he was/is.

The more I read, the more I am disgusted.

What kind of a man is Mike McQueary. I hope this man has no children of his own as he is obviously not man enough to protect them.

Those defending anyone, including Paterno, involved in this coverup is a disgrace to humanity. The Penn State students running wild on campus the other day are mindless idiots.

The Pandora's Box has been opened. This is just the beginning. If I was a religious man I would offer my prayers to the lives of all the children destroyed by Penn State. I am not but they have my thoughts.

Looks like were getting into a "our school is better than your school" argument.

(I'll delete this as off topic a tad later-for now this is a valid comment)

Why are you so surprised with the Penn State riots about Paterno's firing? Riots on college campuses have been around for decades, just look at the Vietnam-era riots.

Calling them mindless idiots is a bit harsh, the same could be said about these Occupy Wall Street morons!

Humble men do not help cover up for a rapist. He was complacent. Sandusky was allowed to use Penn State facilities. Personally, I think Paterno is lower on the ladder of blame than McQueary, Curly and Spanier but as the face of the University he should have done something. Taking part in the coverup and letting Sandusky remain in the Penn State fold trumps all good things Paterno has done.

You bring up the Occupy dolts in a discussion about the cover up of a child rapist?

Vapid.

I was responding to you calling the Penn State students "mindless idiots". That's a bit harsh especially considering the academic standards of Penn State.
