The Big 12 plays plenty of defense. I doubt it, the defensive stats tell a different story.
Because the offenses in the Big 12 are much better. They are more balanced, aggressive, and creative. The SEC offenses are pretty much meh. Dominating running offenses. Horrid passing offenses outside of Arkansas and Florida/Georgia from years past. Great defenses.

Who's offense besides Texas and OU? Tech for a bit and now OSU. The only consistent teams are the big 2. They are the only ones capable of putting complete teams together on a consistent basis.

OSU has pretty much been an offensive juggernaut for as long as I can remember. The offensive stars they have put in the NFL speaks to that.

Most SEC offenses are pro style, not really designed to put up video game type numbers. Still playing good offenses is no excuse for having bad defenses.

But playing **** offenses = good defense?
But you also think Bama would put up the same defensive #'s against the #2, #3, #4, #7, and #12 ranked offenses (top 5 in the Big12) as they would playing the #27, #39, #75, #87 and #94 ranked offenses (top 5 'Bama played this year) so I don't know what to say. If you put those teams in the Big12, they wouldn't just be top 10 offenses all of the sudden.
