Not a Bama fan and definitely dislike LSU. But I like games that occasionally showcase dominance like Alabama's defense did. It was a case study in how to play defense. If LSU's defense hadn't been so good on its own, Alabama would have won 35-0 with a few touchdowns instead of field goals.
As a fan/spectator - I much prefer all around excellent football than Okla St./Stanford and track meets.
I enjoyed the game. It was fun to see Les Miles get whipped. I don't even like Alabama but they were amazing to watch.
The SEC champ sure looked like crap last night. I could only imagine the frothing at the mouth of sec fans if LSU happened to have been from a different power conference. "you couldn't even score a single point against the mighty sec!!" Goes to show, an SEC team can lay an egg in title games too.

The problem with that is, it was another SEC team that delivered the @ss kicking. It *was* surprising that LSU got shut out -- that I didn't see coming. But the first game showcased what Alabama was *capable* of doing, while last night, they actually went out and did the deed.

Yeah, but OSU didn't get its shot to keep LSU scoreless. For that reason, Alabama's win will forever be tainted.
Just look at the Big 12's matchups against the SEC in BCS Title games...

LSU 14
Now tell me why OSU wouldn't get a shot at the national title based on the Big 12's track record against the SEC in title games?????

For all of the talk about how great the Big 12 offenses are, that 2008 OU team scored 60 or more points in its final five games leading up to the BCS title game against the SEC champ, a 1-loss Florida team. They scored 50 or more points in another four games, and scored fewer than 40 points only twice, including a 45-35 loss to Texas. Against SEC champ Florida? 14.
Yep, yes sireee, the winner of a Big 12 juggernaut that loses to Iowa St. deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the team that lost in OT to an LSU team that went undefeated and won by an average of double-digits against every team they faced, including this year's Pac 12 and Rose Bowl champion.
But while we're at it, let's not forget how only three years ago a much touted 10-1 Texas Tech team got beat by #24 Ole Miss, 47-34. LOL! Didn't Ole Miss lead something like 47-21 before finally allowing some mercy scores? LOL!
Let's not forget Arkansas controlling Kansas State and holding them to their lowest point total of the season.

Lots of teams didn't get a chance to get beat by Alabama or LSU, doesn't mean anything. They (the best of the SEC) can't play every top 25 team to try to satisfy every slighted fan who feels gipped at the end of the season.
Tainted? Tainted is the entire Penn State athletic program and everything that has gone on there for the last 20 odd years or whatever.

If the Big 12 had bowl games in its backyard, it would have DEMOLISHED the SEC in those games. Trust and believe that.
And the Sooners were worn out from the plane ride to Miami.
