I'm glad you wrote this. There is clearly something wrong with the University of Oklahoma and it's fanbase to be content with mediocrity. Stoops has not recruited well. They have no offensive or defensive lineman. They recruit a lot of great skilled players but football is won in the trenches boys and the SEC figured that out a long time ago. It's sad that Stoops and company haven't figured that out. They are getting worse each year and pad their wins against weak Big 12 teams and struggle their better opponents. If this were an Alabama or Texas team, the fans would be holding Stoops accountable but in Oklahoma, they don't care and are just glad to have 10 wins. When did Oklahomans become complacent and satisfied with mediocrity?

Look at how much faster our athletes on offense and ESPECIALLY on defense are compared to what we've had the last several years:

The Sooners are getting the DL coach from "Meechigan": Report: Michigan DL coach Jerry Montgomery headed to Oklahoma | MLive.com

The only gripe I have with the makeup of Stoops' staff is that it is super Midwest-heavy. Montgomery is the 4th coach that is from Iowa.....no coaches from Oklahoma/Texas except Cale Gundy (OK) and Bobby Jack Wright (TX). We need some coaches from our own area!

I think Stoops&Co. should be going after some coaches that can recruit the Southeast. That's where the majority of athletes are these days.

Hopefully it will be a good hire. We'll see.

Despite having the highest average annual preseason ranking in college football over the last 10 years, Oklahoma has 0 national titles to show for the preseason love from pollsters. It is time for Bob Stoops to put up or shut up in 2013.

This is what I'm talking about: get a guy familiar with the SEC so we can get into that recruiting treasure-trove of Southeast athletes.

It's B-Bell's to lose. However, if we can run the ball and get mean on the offensive line again, we might not need Bell to throw it all that much anyway.

How about we play aggressive/hard-hitting D coupled with a mean smashmouth offense instead of throwing so much. Now there's a novel idea. Hope Hypel gets the memo.
