Oregon beat Tennessee 59-14. The same Vols squad that took Georgia to OT.
You forget to mention that Georgia was down to it's 3rd and 4th RBs, 5th and 6th WRs on the road in Neyland. UGA can complete control until 2 of Aaron Murray's biggest targets fell with injuries. Perfect storm an upset right? Nope. Not with probably the worst Tennessee team in 100 years. Sorry Duck the Vols is not an impressive win.
Ever think you'd see the day when there is only one Big Ten team in the Top 25? Actually one poll has Michigan 24 and the other has Wisconsin 25, but only one Big Ten team is in anybody's Top 23. Which must be really killing Midwesterners. Usually, all but 2 or 3 Big Ten teams get bowl bids (which is by itself a laughable metric).
UGA is not an impressive team- nothing more to be said.
I agree, UGA is no longer impressive. However, they were very formidable when they had a powerful arsenal loaded with top-quality offensive weapons in August and September. Many teams would struggle without their best skill players.
Two weeks ago, the announcers for Northwestern (the self proclaimed "Chicago's Big Ten Team") were gloating about their 4-0 season, even though they had problems putting away the FCS Maine Black Bears.
Now that they blew the game against Ohio State and were destroyed by Wisconsin, fortunately, they are no longer rates.
Northwestern has the usual path to a bowl game - weak non=conference schedule, beat the weakest Big Ten Schools, split with the midlevel teams and lose against the leaders. In other words, win 8 or 9 games, make it to a second tier bowl game and keep the locals happy.
