That only says that the BCS system didn't work. One could argue that OSU was not worthy of being there either time, especially the 2007 one. Had there been a playoff system then, OSU never would've been in the championship game either year and that monkey on their backs would not have existed until January 1st/12th.

Just like the 02-03 team that was not suppose to be playing Miami, remember that team who had 21 NFL players on their roster and Ohio St beat them.

Geesh, get over it, Ohio St earned, and deserved the be in the playoff and destroyed every team in their path to win it all.

All I can say is the Buckeye haters can go back to that well of LSU and Florida all you want but they at least got to that game when most fans wont ever see their team in a championship game ever.

I would rather be happy we got to 4 championships in 12 years and won 2 of them, not bad at all.

Esp when you see all these top 10 teams at the end of this year who will never see a trophy soon or if ever and Ohio St will see another very soon.

When Ohio St beat Miami you saw a NFL ladden Hurricane team filled with dirty players and they beat them.

Now you have an Oregon team filled with what is suppose to be a high powered offense turned to dust because of a good athletic defensive team. I aint buying the whining crap about they were off their game.

No they were off because Ohio St smacked them in the mouth, took them out of their game and physically tossed them around like JVs.

You could see it on Mariottas face, he was used to playing candy games, padding his numbers against weak opponents in the PAC 12 and ran into a force to be reckoned with and did not respond well.

Onto the TCU stuff, TCU got beat by Baylor and Baylor then become the best team in their conference.
TCU has no arguments at all. Then Mich St beats Baylor, who beat TCU, so the TCU argument is over.

They did not deserve a shot, they did not win their own conference and barely got by 2 weak teams in Kansas, West Virginia and barely got by on another game.

LMAO thinking TCU should not be in the top final rankings at all. They could not beat Oregon, Alabama, Mich St or even Georgia which played awesome at seasons end.

If there was a college football playoff in 1948, The University of Michigan Wolverines Football Team, might not have been selected as the AP national champion.

Contrats to OSU for putting together a fantastic season with starting, backup and backup of a backup QB's!

I wonder if people would be making the same TCU argument if Oregon or Bama won the championship.

Yeah. bama lost to ole miss the team who TCU beat. Oregon to Arizona. Playoff needs more teams. But this is just the first year so things will evolve. But congrats to Ohio state.

Actually, it's these losses and the resulting crap we OSU fans have had to endure from haters that make this national championship so sweet. It feels like a gigantic middle finger to the Buckeye-hating world.

I agree. The haters will hate even though most of those same haters have disappeared out of sight since the Buckeyes destroyed No 1 and No 2.

Look back at the postings, many said they should not have been even in the playoffs.

Like one ESPN analyst stated, this very well might be one of the best OVERALL teams ever to win a National Championship. Losing 6 total starters, 2 seniors before the season started and then a 2nd string QB no team ever has done this and no team has ever beaten the top 3 Heisman finalist in one season like the Buckeyes did.

This was exciting and a very amazing season. The playoff format made it even more exciting.

Now I see someone who was FROM COLUMBUS and now gone so something about that tells me why they hate on the Buckeyes.

I stated 2 months ago here this team will win a National Championship in the next 1-3 years long before most posters favorite teams will. DONE. Now ready to move on the the road to two in a row.

Wait. Now the focus will be Ohio St cannot win two in a row. Watch and see.

We got the very first playoff championship and destroyed everyone who got in the way.

Everyone just witnessed history being made.

Next question is what do you do with 3 already mentioned Heisman candidates at one position QB?

No team ever has had 3 Heisman candidates going into the next year on one team like this.

Go Bucks!!

We are the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.

Today is what counts and Ohio State DESERVED to be in the playoffs, proved so and beat up some darn good teams along the way.

TCU did not deserve a shot, they barely beat a sad Kansas team, just got by West Virginia and I believe another score was by 3 or 4 points so they got lucky to win all three of these close games and got beat by Baylor showing many college fans when you give up 61 points you have not much of a defense.

TCU did not earn their way in, they did not win a conference, lost to Baylor who then lost in the bowl game and barely won 3 games.

OSU fans should be hyped, this team is full of amazing talent.

And what about Bama, they won titles and had good teams, no one wins it every year.

TCU and Baylor being at the top of a very weak conference tells me neither will win any National title in many years to come.
Very young talent at that...a lot of Freshman and Sophmores on this team were the stars.
