i need some serious football .. even as a fan i cant stand these rinky dink bowls ..( really any bowl that does`nt have an SEC team in it is a rinky dink bowl ) HA !! i feel we will do much better than last year ..
that gives the pac12 a 4-0 bowl record with six games to go. can the pac12 go 10-0 this year? i dont think so, but it is not out of the realm of possibility. i figure the pac12 will lose as many as three games this bowl season, we shall see.
Independence Bowl is more high-scoring than i thought.
True that. I think the over-under(s) closed around 61 points. Game ended with 107 total points
Congrats to Beamer, the Hokies, (and all the guys who bet on the 'over') on their win. I've always liked Beamer's relatively subdued sideline demeanor. Great coaching career for my man, and he will be missed.
Long answer: There weren't enough eligible teams that qualified, so I think choosing between 5-7 teams broke down to graduation rate or something like that, and of the 5-7 teams Nebraska was one of the highest. Of course they could've declined the bid like some teams did to save face which probably would've been even LESS embarrassing, which is really sad.
Thanks, guys.
Sounds like we'll continue to have this parade of rinky-dinky, everybody-participates bowls!
