Any defense of Meyer & that wife beater smith is disgraceful, just like the child rape enabler JoPa, IMO.
The spin from the tOSU fans is nothing but pure propaganda.
Even the “investigation” report is a moral failure - and failed to condemn Meyer for wiping the old texts from his phone.
That domestic violence enabler, along with that BOR and school president, has shamed himself and the buckeye culture. What a disgusting crapshow that was last night.

Horrible stain on that school and everyone involved.

Yep, win at any cost, whether it is abused wives, raped coeds, or raped children.
Here’s looking at you FSU, PSU, tOSU, Baylor, etc.

I know why they were all let go.

Jim was as good as fired, they "asked" for his resignation. I thought this would go down similarly and they would do the same with Urban.

College football is shady, nothing new really.

TBH I kid of expected Urban to take his pile of money and resign.

I'm still suspicious about the allegation that he was asking if/how old text messages can be deleted. However, OSU isn't stupid...they have to know that can be traced, even if deleted, just like with a computer.

Zach Smith wasn't a wife "beater." Not even his wife accused him of that. It says a lot about the media, let alone posters, that the charges against Zach Smith are being distorted and he's being judged guilty when he's yet to be charged with anything. Do you believe that vengeful wives never lie in custody battles???

Note that Smith was fired over a trespassing charge (Smith dropped his son off in his wife's driveway), which Smith's wife Courtney engineered, according to Smith's attorney, because he didn't tell Meyer about the incident. See post 91. Get your facts straight before spreading vile libel.

On the other hand, Meyer should have never hired this guy at Ohio State, nor especially kept him around given Smith's deficiencies as detailed in the INDEPENDENT report of this incident. Smith was a ticking time bomb who would eventually smear the Ohio State football program.

If you read my posts, this is very much a "he said, she said" situation which has NOT been adjudicated in the courts. NO PROSECUTORS in Florida or Ohio have ever charged Zach Smith of anything.

I get that Meyer and Ohio State aren't popular in Texas having recruited several top players from the Lone Star state, but disingenuous representations about the situation are shameful IMO.

The photos of her injuries are pretty clear evidence, plus his admission of abusing her belie any denials of what he is. He is a scumbag, so the domestic violence semantics don’t wash with anyone outside the buckeye world.
Yet Meyer gave him the “benefit of the doubt”? What a dumpster fire he created for himself.
He’s a bald faced liar and the tOSU administration & BOR should be ashamed.

Recruiting has nothing to do with the disdain for such an immoral person like Meyer.
The koolaid must be pretty strong in Ohio, but the rest of the country can see what a disgrace they made for themselves.

Just win baby.

Urban Meyer will be out the door when his recruiting level drops, they lose sponsorships. I think this will be his last year.

Recruiting will be affected because what mother will want to want their son playing for a man who allows a wife beater to still work for him, and bring him to Columbus from Florida?

LSU would love to have him. Next to Saban, he's one of the greatest college football coaches in history.

Don't be so sure about that.

Many women turn blind eye to physical abuse - although the reasons are often complex. Denial, protecting their lifestyle, fear...etc.

Remember, Shelly Meyer is a mother.

Shame. I watched a Las Vegas Law episode that asked a victim why she didn't report it when it happened to her. (The guy was now being prosecuted for doing it to his current girlfriend.) She said she was ashamed to have her family and friends know what was happening.

I was raised in an era that always blamed the woman. She must have done something wrong or he wouldn't have to beat her. So you kept quiet so other people wouldn't know that you were such a bad person that makes men have to rough you up.

That is changing but reading comments here and on yahoo articles, there are still plenty of people who believe that.
