I didn't think FSU's loss was bad, Boise State has a solid team. It was a competitive game.

In truth, it was conditioning. The Ducks' lines were flat-out gassed by the end of the game. Plus Auburn's defensive line almost completely shut down Oregon's vaunted offensive line in the second half.

Yep. I picked Boise State. It's not as if they lost to Georgia State or something.

Auburn adjusted well. They gave up less yardage in quarters 2-3-4 than in the first one.

Oregon's QB Herbert did go down, but came back. Probably no issue with an injury.

Bottom line both WA and OR have lost to Auburn on opening night two years in a row. Bad news for the Pac-12.

USC has lost their QB to an ACL.

It is an uphill battle for the Pac-12, no doubt.

I think it will come down to Utah, Washington, Oregon, Stanford as the contenders for a playoff spot. But Oregon can't afford even one more loss. If Washington can run the table, they have a chance, depending on others losing above them.

Two teams not ranked. But the optics are worse for FSU. A usual contender, and Willie is definitely on the hot seat.

I think the main issue there is that both USC and UCLA are both going through horrid sub-par stretches. The rest of the conference is fairly typical of how they've done in the past.

It's not like losing to Boise is bad, it's certainly not Georgia State bad, but when your seat was already getting cooked to begin with (Taggert @ FSU) it's a bad loss and now that flame is getting hotter and hotter. The $17 million buyout or whatever number SouthernTiger mentioned is probably the only thing that saves him....and that's a big if anyways.

Probably because many FSU fans think their team is entitled to wins.
