TONITE Central Ark travels to UAB for an 8 PM matchup live on TV ESPN3 I am looking forward to watching some THursday Night Football.
Saturday, we have 3 games scheduled. First, Eastern Kentucky will play at we are MARSHALL
Then Houston Baptist, Of the Southland Conference will travel to Denton to meet the cat's ALMA MATER at Apology Stadium in the first evening game.
The Nightcap will be a slobberknocker between UTEP and Stephen F Austin. Both teams want to pick p a win to establish themselves for the season and get off to a winning spree, in case the season actually goes on longer.
I guess the outcome could mean the difference between an undefeated season and a winless one.
I've always been proud of the Mean Green. They integrated in 1956 and they did it with an All timer... Abner Haynes. For them to integrate in the state of Texas during that era is truly amazing. Then Mean Joe Green came there in the 1960s before the SWC integrated.
Had a friend who's son was recently the back up QB for the Eagles.
The Hurricanes have a date tonite at 8 PM, at the Rick Rock vs UAB....No Local TV in S Fl, I will have to search all over with the TV Fire Stick .
Will there be fans?
The University of Miami has announced up to 13,000 fans will be allowed into Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday, but there will be no students. (Makes sense)
No One SHOULD be There...My Opinion !!! That's a lot of DRUNKS on top of each other in Pandemia Times, not a good recipe at all !!!
I had a ticket application sent to me by email for one of my alma maters. They put a limit on the upper size of the crowd and restricted sales to a few nominal categories. It was bizarre. I honestly think they could realistically shut down the season after the first one or two games. It's too unrealistic to expect all students to obey the public health protocols on game day when tailgating is the "norm". Supposedly, they aren't allowed. But I don't buy it. I think some (not all) students will find a way to have tailgaters covertly and an outbreak will happen once they let their social walls down after getting drunk. Even if a fair majority of students obeys the social distancing rules, the few who don't may be enough to cause those dreaded outbreaks.
This is usually how it looks on Friday nights at many football-centric college parties before the first football game - lol. Think of alumni like "Frank the Tank" partying with current college students.
Imagine paying Coastal Carolina to come to your place and beat you 2 straight years?? Every time I think Kansas football has hit rock bottom they find another layer to drop. Last year Coastal beat them 12-7, this year Coastal went up 28-0 in the first half and cruised from there, though I think Kansas mounted a second half rally and only lost by like 12 or 14.
Texas Longhorns scrimmage against a hapless UTEP last night... 25% crowd capacity in a 100,000 seat stadium looks mighty thin... (Never mind the $200,000,000 end zone construction project - but at least the new video screen was working)
As much as I like watching college football, I think the way they're handling this is reckless. I'm not opposed to holding games in empty stadiums, with regular testing and possibly isolating the players, coaches and crew. What scares me is the following:
1. COVID cases on college campuses are out of control. Many of these players live in dorms or go to college parties and congregate with a ton of others. This is a ticking time bomb.
2. While stadiums are only being filled to something like 25% capacity, I'm still seeing a lot of fans congregating, many not wearing masks. They're going to spread this to the community and without better precautions, this will likely be shut down.

Really? Keep an eye out to the out of control spread that's going on at many colleges before making assumptions that this is completely safe.
