Penn ST has given Joe Pa a 3 year extension on his contract til 2011 when he will turn 85.

I read somewhere that Joe Pa is afraid to retire because Bear Bryant did and died 3 months after. Im not going to say he should stay or go, but if I were him and I beat USC in the Rose Bowl that would beat it. Go out on a big win and retire, because Ohio St is going to get better next year as well as other Big Ten teams so there is no assurance of another season like this.

I'm surprised he's been around as long as he has. Maybe he doesn't want to retire at all?

Joe Pa is the bomb. Most men think if they still work (in more ways than one...). They will never die.

Joe Pa will die in office! They will have to carry him out in a pine box before he ever thinks about not coaching the Nittany Lions.

The man is a living legend. We were down to a game earlier this year and you should have seen the people entering the stadium react when JoPa came past on his way up to the coaches box. People reaching out just to touch him, yelling and cheering, and then talking about it after the game. And what other coach has a "town" named after them (Paternoville). I believe he could fill Beaver stadium by himself.
