Jack Del Rio to stay at JAX despite being pursued by SC. Now, Mariucci is a candidate...how low has SC fallen? Mariucci is garbage.
In an ironic twist of fate, Mike Bellotti has been hinted as a possible candidate. A few Duck feathers will be awfully disheveled if that is even remotely true.

Wow, I can't even imagine that. I figured Bellotti would retire at U of O. If he goes, he'll make somebody awfully happy--but it won't be Ducks!
Well that's an interesting coaching carousel that we got off of.
Lane Kiffin is probably going to be under heavier scrunity than Brian Kelley at Notre Dame with him being so untested. Then again he seems to know the school and the area.
The deal is the same with Virginia and Mike London and to a lesser extent Gil Turner at Kansas.
Kiffin is boosted by return of Orgeron on his staff (LA times quotes them as saying that they need to capture Southern California.....what, like they haven't already??! Sheesh!)
One big thing thrown at Kiffin is that he is "untested" as a head coach, some people are saying the same thing about London at UVA and Joker Phillips at UK.
Compare with the huge netting of Charlie Strong at Louiville and you get nothing but arduent praise.
Me, I am on the fence. Kiffin is gonna be under a lot of pressure to make results YESTERDAY.
What I do know is that you don't necessarily have to be a previous head coach in order to build a sucessful program, much as everyone seems to want to bank on a name. Hell what, "Building or Rebulding" does USC need?
A few examples I can think of are Tom O'Brien at Boston College, Gary Barnett at Northwestern and Bill Snyder at Kansas State.
Admittedly, those examples better fit places like UVA or Kansas which are in a totally different ball park than USC.
Yet I do think that Kiffin should be given a fair shake and see what he does in 3 to 4 years at the latest. Some place like USC being in LA and having such a great history should be able to stay successful. (It's not like they went 3-9 or something).
Kiffen's going to be in a tough spot. USC had a disappointing year--for them. For most teams, it would have been a great year!
It's always easier for a coach pressure- and fan expectation-wise to come into a program that's struggling than to come into one that's been so successful for so many years in a row.
