So you would want a 15 team SEC? A&M is going to go where UT goes. No way the SEC gets just one. And there is certainly no possibility the SEC gets UT.

I wouldn't mind a 16 team SEC. I think Texas stays in the Big 12 or Goes to either Pac 10 or Big 10. If the SEC can't get Texas A&M,I'd want them to go after TCU.
I don't think Texas and Texas A&M will play in different conference. They are tied together. For this reason, I don't see the SEC getting either of these two teams because Texas has no interest in going to the SEC but both Texas and Texas A&M are interested in the Pac 10 and the Pac 10 is all ears.

If I were the PAC 10,I'd probably be interested in Utah and BYU also. Do you think Houston and TCU would join the SEC?
If Houston or TCU goes anywhere, it would be the Big XII, if (and when) Mizzou leaves.
I think Georgia Tech and Clemson for sure into the SEC. Maybe Memphis,Southern Miss,Troy or Louisville,in a worst case senario thing. I think the SEC adds two more teams in each division eventually.

I can see Ga Tech and Clemson going to the SEC. That would be a great fit. Both GT and Clemson have instate SEC rivals.
The Pac-10 would love to get the Texas schools. BYU is out of the question for many reasons discussed in another thread. Utah would be a good fit and so would Colorado.

I think Memphis or Louisville would probably be good additions to the SEC for the same reasons you gave for GT and Clemson. Memphis plays Tennessee in Football and Basketball every year and Louisville does the same with Kentucky.
IMO, the only options the SEC would go after are Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, FSU, Miami, Clemson, UNC, and Virginia Tech.
"maybe" would be Louisville, Wake, Duke, South Florida, TCU, Houston, ECU, Missouri.
that doesn't mean that i think these schools would necessarily leave their respective conferences for the SEC. i just mean that i think there's basically no chance that Troy, Southern Miss, or Memphis would ever be accepted by the existing SEC member schools.
i am curious what the revenue changes would be like for Texas and Texas A&M, in particular. Texas gets a big slice of the Big 12 pie, but the SEC pie is larger. From what I am reading the SEC distributed $11m per school in 2009, and should give $17m per school in 2010. I can't find numbers for the Big 12 for 2009 and projected 2010.
