admission statistics vs reality (GRE, masters degree, masters, score)

i want to apply for a masters degree program in unc-chapel hill. my GRE score is 1120 which is way lower than the admission statistics. my undergraduate grades are good and i have more than 8 years experience. do they still insist on high the GRE score?

My son's girlfriend was rejected there, as an in-state resident, with a very good college GPA and research experience. She ended up getting accepted when the professor she was doing research for acted on her behalf. I don't know her exact GRE score, but she seemed an excellent candidate on paper, and didn't get in on her own. Just don't get your hopes too high.

If your numbers in whatever admissions criteria they use are far lower than what they normally accept, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
