I am a sculpture student out of US and I am considering getting my Master's degree in US (preferably in these states: CT, DC, MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA, RI). I did some research about the institutions (in that area) offering a graduate program in sculpture, and found the following schools. but I would like to know which ones are considered more prestigious in "Contemporary Fine Arts" than others.
urban setting and of course tuitions are important to me. but I would consider a suburban area if the school is really good. and if I am able to get some financial aid (I guess, I am a good student), tutions wouldn't be a big deal.
the pricey ones:
- Rhode Island School of Design
- Maryland Institute College of Art
the more probable ones:
- CUNY: Brooklyn College
- MassArt - Massachusetts College of Art and Design
- Temple University
the suburban ones:
- SUNY College at Purchase
- SUNY College at New Paltz
Not northeast (but NY, PA, and MD aren't Northeast either, they are mid-atlantic), but VCU in Richmond, VA is the best sculpture school in the country.
Other ones you missed:
SMFA in Boston (School of the Museum of Fine Arts, almost on the same block as Mass Art)
Rochester Institute of Technology. Rochester, NY. Only offer ceramic sculpture though
A school known for its high International student population and that offers such a program is George Washington University.
