Of course. Depending on what you want to study... but except for MIT, UMass Lowell would be a lot more famous. The UMass system is pretty good. Salem State. I don't know about school that aren't in eastern Mass. but I think the public schools are overshadowed by the numerous private ones.

Actually the main campus is in Amherst and it's probably a good bit more famous.

MassArt is quite a good, public art school. Very rare combination - public art school, not the good part.
