I am wondering how hard are online MSW programs? Is it mostly reading and textbook work or is it read lectures, hands on work, and writing papers?

Online MSW programs will likely be exactly like their ground counterparts. I don't know about the MSW since it's an applied degree, but graduate degrees in the social sciences tend to require a lot of paper writing. You'll also likely have to respond to discussion questions and other classmates' posts.

There are a few good MSW programs online, a few. Make sure the university is accredited through the CSWE, as mentioned above. I'm a MSW student now and can speak to the fact that online programs are usually extraordinarily expense or limited to a geographic region.

CSU Nothridge is a respectable State university - my alma mater. Make sure the program has the proper accreditations.

Why not call or email the program and ask what it entails?
