No big deal?

If it was one simple one, no issue. The problem comes when there is a bunch of typos on the website.

Ironic that there is a typo in your thread title.

Someone probably proof read their own work and their brain saw what it was supposed to see, not actually what was written.

I think many of us have become reliant on built-in spelling/grammar checkers most software products have. Even this forum provides one.

In my experience many HTML platforms have not had spell- or grammar-check precisely because half of what's 'typed' is code rather than spoken language.

It's generally much easier forum for making and missing a mistake, compared to typing a cover letter in Microsoft Word.

You can cut and paste text into your html platform from word, but in my experience that can make your formatting screwy. That said, I only code in HTML as a hobby and am not up on all the most recent software versions, but it seems to me an easy mistake to make/miss.

^^This! On both statements!

Oh, irony....

One should not proof their own work. You are too familiar with it. Always, always have a peer proof read for you.

A random error that is an obvious typo doesn't bother me. But I am disturbed by misspellings that display ignorance. Recently on a visit--to Princeton University of all places--my daughter and I saw a handwritten poster displayed to mark the beginning of a campus tour for visitors. Both the words "independent" and "attendance" were spelled wrong on this sign.

My daughter was appalled. I was so proud.

A brain saw might be helpful for some people who misspell often.

How do you know it's a typo? It could be a grammar error.

"Schools" is missing an apostrophe. You need an apostrophe to denote possession.
