I was just accapted into the Radiography program ( 2 year degree ) at Wilbur Wright College here in Chicago. I applied in 2013 and I was put on a waiting list ( 27 ).

For those of you who have taken this course or similar. How was the job opportunities when graduating. Also, how hard was it? I have 2 young children. How much studying did you do? I am the kind of person who can sit for hours and study until I get it. I have heard it is pretty hard.

The job market is becoming flooded with graduates since the recession where many have retrained for Radiography because of the relative ease of transition. The Chicago metro is large enough though and should offer enough opportunity after graduation. The program is very rigorous and during clinical rotations can entail 40 hours or more per week. Hopefully you have a child care support system to help you get through it which is the biggest issue for a lot of students. It's a difficult curriculum with lots of physics involved, so if you're not naturally inclined in terms of math/science it can be difficult, and studying with others in class is highly recommended in order to best grasp the work involved. Good luck!
