Resuming College Study in USA (credits, graduate, courses, field)

Hi,
First of all, I'm living in Egypt, and I go to the college of Engineering where I've spent 3 years in...and not on a Camel!
Second of all, I study Computer and System Engineering -IT field, and of course during these 3 years, I've taken some good amount of courses in this college.
Third of all, I've an American passport, so I was thinking really about continuing my study in USA, particularly at any university in Houston,TX.
To put you in the picture,
In Egypt, It takes you 5 years to graduate from a college of Engineering,
and since I've spent 3 years (struggling among all these courses that I'm given), I've 2 years left to graduate.
Now, I have a strong desire in resuming my study in USA...
so, At this point:
-what are the chances that I got to achieve that? and How?
-The courses that I've taken in Egypt, will they go in vain? or they're counted?
please, advise me of what should I do?

Contact the colleges you are interested directly and ask them what credits will transfer. Most likely they will take no more then two years worth of credits. You could even do this as an e-mail inquiry with your transcripts attached.
