Oy,

Has anyone taken the Kaplan LSAT prep course? Is it worth $1,000? Did your score improve so dramatically that you were officially crowned "The Most Awesome Person Ever!"? Or did you use a self study method such as Princeton Review, or PowerScore and it was effective as well? Tell me about your experience....

Back story: Considering a career in law, family law to be exact. I have NOT taken the LSAT but plan to do so next spring or fall. I have begun practicing and my biggest problem (like most people) is Analytical Reasoning ("Logic Games"). I can complete them in 15 minutes, but I need to cut that down to 8 minutes. Any advice?...

I took the Kaplan class and it really helped me. On the other hand, I have heard from others that Kaplan is only a mediocre service though I cannot really compare it to anything else as all I did was Kaplan.

Self study: I cannot really comment on it as I never really did it...Sure I studied on my own, but I did so with Kaplan materials and what not.

Results: I cannot say I was crowned most awesome person ever, but my score did improve from 148 on my first practice test to a 163 on the real LSAT, which was pretty awesome imho.

logic games: A lot of that is just practicing and reviewing the answers afterwords. In my experience, the more I did this the more I was able to understand the general mechanics of the various types of logic games, and as a result I was able to finish the section much quicker.
