I am thinking of going back to school for an accounting degree, and have been contacted by the University of Phoenix after doing some on-line researching. They have an on-line program for a bachelors and a Masters degree. Does anybody know much about them? Is it a good school, or bad? Would employers have respect for an on-line program or not? If anybody has any feedback, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
I think the Tampa area would have more respect for a degree from USF than any online facility. I'm sure they have night classes and also Hillsboro Community College is a great and economical way to get first two years in. Same classes as USF just lower fees. An MBA from USF is nothing to sneeze at.
Depends on your age. If you're over about 30 and have been in the workforce for several years, it really isn't going to matter to most employers where your degree comes from at this point - your experience and GPA at whatever school you choose to attend will be of more importance. Or that's been my experience, anyway.
If you're wanting on-line for convenience sake, you might also look at Western Governors University - reasonable pricing, fully accredited and founded by governors of several states (hence the name) - and most importantly, geared towards the working adult.
University of Phoenix is very expensive. You could get a better education for less.
Colleges that 'contact you'...especially via phone, are usually ones to stay away from.
