The Sun shall rise again? | name, springs, colorado - Business - Colorado Springs Gazette, CO
the owner of the Independent might buy the Gazette, but just in case might re-start an old (before my time) local Paper called the 'Colorado Springs Sun.'

The Gazette has one of the more valuable online properties that they could sell.

Colorado Springs News & Information : Colorado Springs Gazette, CO

The problem is that the wack-job "libertarian" who runs the paper is not inventive enough to work with it. I use "libertarian" in quotes as most real libertarians could give 2 cents about the social agenda the GOP pushes (no gays, keep SSI, ect.). The only libertarian effort that the publisher is in favor of is the pot smokers and that's only for the tax money generated.

If the Sun were to start back up, it may have a chance as a bi-weekly but the Indy does decent investigative news (the Westward is better) but COS is too small to support 2 full papers. An online only paper would have a better chance now that the iPad and tablets are proliferating. The online-only RMN was about 2 years early.
