I've eaten at most of the places mentioned for Colorado Springs. But the best place bar none is Kings Chef Diner. There are 2 locations, one on Bijou and one on Costilla.

I agree, no chance you'll leave hungry. Two thumbs up, no foo foo food at Kings Chef. RP

Village Inn? I love that place, breakfast or dinner. Hrmmm I could go for a Cuban Wrap for lunch.

Gunther Toodys, Mimi's Cafe, Cracker Barrell are others to mention for breakfast.

I agree about the Egg and I though, it's always good and they offer waffles on their kids menu too. (Sometimes my kids want waffles and not pancakes for breakfast.)

If you don't mind a drive I like Gaia Bistro for breakfast.
Gaia Bistro - Menu of Gaia Bistro

They don't have waffles, but their crepes and hashes are delicious and light. I haven't found anything really comparable here in the springs. That is a slightly modern/upscale brunch. Marigolds here in springs doesn't do breakfast anymore, but I remember it being enjoyable.

Here in springs, i like Omelette Parlor, but it goes down heavier and the service can be really slow.

Post Best Breakfast, especially waffles

My favorite breakfast place is Mountain Shadows on Colorado Ave. They have the best green chile burritos.
For waffles, IHop is a good choice, as well as Village Inn.

I have some recommendations:
Black Bear- you won't leave hungry!
Old North End diner-seedy but the price and quality of food make up for it!
Rudy's-great prices and food rocks!
The Pantry (Green Mountain Falls)- amazing scenery and the food good
Cracker Barrel- just all around great

My favorite is the Olive Branch, downtown. But Wade's and King's Chef are ones to try as well.

European Cafe in Manitou has amazing breakfasts ... can't remember if she has waffles, but she does have some really great and unusual breakfast dishes, and her homefries are to die for.
