Myself and girlfriend are coming to the springs for our 2nd visit to further explore neighborhoods and the city for our future move to the area. We will be joined by my brother and his girlfriend who are also considering a move to the area. Last time we were out, we checked out Garden of the Gods, and we took the train up to the top of Pikes Peak. I would like to take the train again, but am wondering if it would be cold. I am also looking for other things we could do? We are all in our twenties, would maybe like to go out for drinks one night maybe somewhere with live music. Also, looking for some cool daytime activities we could could do that just might help persuade them to make the move with us. Waterfalls? Look out points? Etc.

You could register to hike in Queen's Canyon, they only accept so many people/cars per day. Red Rocks Open Space is terrific. The Air Force Academy Chapel is fantastic. Have you strolled around Manitou Springs or Old Colorado City?

The Manitou Cliff Dwellings has been a popular place for guests... great views from there.
If you want to see some waterfalls, check out Seven Falls, breathtaking scenery.
You and your friends would probably enjoy the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - if really is quite spectacular and you can hand-feed the giraffes! It is the nicest zoo I have ever been to, by far.
These attractions are all around the same west/sw location of Colorado Springs so you can also browse & dine Old Colorado City or Manitou Springs.

Cave of the Winds, walk thru Manitou Springs and or Old Colorado City, Royal Gorge in Canon City, Cripple Creek, Downtown COS... lots to see and do around here.

The weather's been pretty nice lately. Very mild for this time of year, but bring a jacket or fleece along with you in the car and you'll be fine. Be safe!

When are you coming? The train may or may not be able to go all the way to the top depending on snow. Granted this year we have had little snow to speak of, but it's certainly worth a check.

Downtown has lots of places to go for drinks, food and music. Thirsty Parrott is a popular place. There's Gasoline Alley for rock and metal. There are a bunch of places.. mostly along Tejon St., but certainly not just there.

Personally, I like Jack Quinn's Irish Pub...lot's of character, a bit more laid back and friendly, and the food is very good. They have live bands there on weekends, but they're Celtic-type bands. It's fun.
