Hi everybody!
I'm hoping that I can find the advice that i'm looking for. Me and my boyfriend are contemplating moving to Colorado Springs from Chicago. We're a young couple, no children, and no pets. We dont have anything tying us to Chicago, So we figured we'd move and have a fresh start. We both have average jobs working at the Impound lot. He has an associates degree in criminal justice, and i'm still trying to find out what career path I would like to take.

We're trying to find out how much the average cost of rent is for apatments out there, we're looking for a one or two bedrooms.
What gas is like
What the job market is like
If its a tight knit city
What recreational options are available
If its a prejudice city,overall
What public transportation is like
What the colleges in the area are like
In general i'm trying to figure out if Colorado Springs has a postive, and prosperous outlook for a young couple who are trying to start a life together.

i grew up in colorado springs and never saw any. boulder is worse
What public transportation is like

its not the best place for young people as most of the young people there are very transient due to being in the military or contractors. but if you plan on starting a family soon i would say colorado springs is the #1 city in colorado for families, or maybe tied with fort collins.

Gasoline or heating gas? We have low gasoline prices compared to the nation, especially since 'regular' is lower octane (due to the altitude) and @ $3.55 right now.

Yes, your gas is lower than many areas around the country. I'm in Ohio and currently it's $3.89 a gallon.

I honestly haven't gone through cost analysis of any of the universities out here, but they aren't cheap. When I graduated from HS, if you went to a community college, it was cause you couldn't get accepted to a four year university. Most students in my school graduate and go to Pikes Peak CC because they can't afford Colorado schools.

Course, I graduated HS in Texas and got my degree at Texas A&M. Pretty cheap there in TX.
