I've read quite a bit about it, but don't know specific numbers. I know that Eastern Colorado is probably second to Wyoming for hail, but don't know how often you get hail that is actually damaging to homes, cars or anything else.

I'm a big car guy, and there isn't much about weather that concerns me because I'd do my best to keep cars in garages, etc. But, if you are stranded out in it on the freeway, at work or wherever, there isn't anything you can do.

Just curious. CS looks like a great place to live!

I've only lived here 8 months, and on the south side of town (ugh!). I've only gotten hit with hail about 3 times, and none of those times was it damaging.

But during a few storms it didn't hail where I live, yet it did on the north side of town. Fairly big too.

But from what I understand its not too bad.

I have lived in Colo Springs for 30 years. The last time we had golf ball sized hail here in Briargate was in 1992. Before that, I was hit in 1979 in Rockrimmon.

However, I'll bet other neighborhoods will have different stories.

The storms here are so variable! It's impossible to predict.

Bottom line, don't worry.

A friend's truck is being appraised next tues for hail damage sustained last week in Pueblo. I heard on the radio this morning about a car dealer having a sale on 'hail-damaged' new cars at the Pueblo Mall.
