If your a resident in the stratton meadows area! Be warned: These nasty thiefs are breaking glass on your back doors or sliding glass doors & walking right into your home & taking everything of value! Jewelry, Electronics, Guns, & even your kids Christmas presents! They get in & out before anyone even knows that they are there & the cops cant seem to catch em! & worst part is, that they hit while your at work or out to dinner! From 5-7 pm! So be aware of this serious issue. Sincerely Elizabeth

Were you actually burglarized or was this in your neighborhood?? If so, very sorry to hear that. Thieves go into overtime during the Holidays, that's for sure. It's a real shame.

People often think I'm a lil' kooky, because I take home security very seriously, but I really think you have to take precautions....it's a crazy world we live in.

I have inexpensive infra-red cameras posted on window sills that I think are vulnerable. The cameras are very visible. I also have motion sensors in other areas and they're tied to a shrieking modular alarm system.

These things can be purchased at home improvement stores, and they're not super expensive. You don't necessarily have to subscribe to an alarm monitoring service.....not that those are bad things, but there are lots of different things you can do to make your home more secure.

The area you speak of is known for crime. But even if you live in a low crime area, you can be a victim. It's best to know that it exists and fully understand that it can happen to anyone anytime. Keep lights on outside, put an alarm sign in the front yard and be friends with the cops. If you see any suspicious looking people, call the cops and have them stop by. It just might scare the bad guys away.
