No, not really. You can live within a couple blocks of both King Soopers (Union Blvd and Briargate Pkwy) or Albertsons (Union Blvd and Research Pkwy).

The latter intersection is IMO the "ground zero" of Briargate where one can walk to to these food choices (Chinese, Thai, Sushi, Kabobs, Gelato, Subway, Taco Bell, Jamba Juice, Pizza place). One can also walk to Walgreen's, Doctors and Dentists, Liquor store, mailboxes place, hair/nail salons, dry cleaners, Wells Fargo bank, bus stop.

The intersection where King Sooper's is located is walkable to Starbucks, Liquor store, cleaners, papa murphy's pizza, sushi, Jimmy Johns for sandwiches, bank, Lowes, hospital, doctors, stock broker, massage, hair and nail salons, YMCA, skateboard park. The new Lifetime Fitness is not more than 3/4 mile up Briargate, near Powers Blvd.

Thanks Mike for the quick reply and fantastic photos. Im a bit bummed about the BLR area but can you recommend a area in the 200-240K price range where the houses arent crammed together like in zips 80922 and 80923? I would like some elbow room and homes that are not too old- not over 15 years old or so. Thanks.

It may be possible to find houses with a bit more land around them, but they are a bit rare, and mostly found in the older stuff.

In our climate, lawns need to be watered, just about every house has a sprinkler system for that, and the water bills are high here and going higher each year.

Can anyone name a few apartment complexes in the Briargate area? Apartment shopping online from South Carolina is tough.

1. Commons at Briargate, in what I feel the best location convenient to everything.
2. Sagebrook
3. The Alexan at Briargate

Try padmapper.com to find all sorts of rentals. The area known as Briargate covers a lot of area, loosely speaking that is much of the area north of Woodmen Rd and east of I-25. IMO, ground zero for Briargate is Research Blvd and Lexington Dr.

I recently visited and thought as I drove through, that most of that area was very new. Interesting to see it is that old. (I know, not that old in the scheme of things.)
