There's a new one downtown that sounds like it could be an interesting place to stay: Mining Exchange Hotel opens, fully booked | sanders, exchange, mining - Colorado Springs Gazette, CO

Yes, yay! I love Springs Orleans, as well.

Congrats to Perry Sanders in persevering with the Mining Exchange Hotel and the Springs Orleans. It looks like a really classy place and could well be centerpiece, along with the Antlers Hilton, for a revitalized downtown. Now all he needs keep the place full.

Speaking of hotels. What acceptable hotels can I find for 50 bucks a night?

I used roomsaver and the best deal I found was microtel. There were some cheaper, but they had terrible reviews. Anyone know if the Microtel is good or not? Any recommendations for places that would usually ask 69 or less? (That seems to be about the line for places that I can offer 50 and get a room)

Do you need a hotel? Have you tried airbnb.com?

I'm not familiar with pricing with hotels in the springs as I live here, but if you find decent hotels that cheap I'll be really impressed! I think the Motel 6 and the ...I can't find the hotel, but it's near I-25 and GoG road... seem to have cheap prices. That said, the one hotel I can't remember seems to get a ton of crime there.

Looking at hotels.com there are cheap hotels, between $40-$50, but they're not in nice places and aren't rated well at all.
