I am relocating to the Colorado Springs area in 2 weeks time. I have a job lined up in Castle Rock and have come to find out that the public transportation between these two areas is non-existent as far as I can tell. Being that the FREX system is gone and I am coming without a vehicle, I need to try to find a way to and from work. This proves difficult being that it is a retail job and the hours will vary. Is there anyone that may have any advice or know something I can't find out that can help??!!

You might try this: Castle Rock, Colorado Carpool / Rideshare: 3 car pool / ride share listings

There are a number of people who do this kind of commute regularly. One popular park n ride area is just off of I-25 at the Woodmen exit. If you could somehow meet some people that use it without freaking them out, maybe you could find some who would let you ride for gas $. There's also a park n ride on Nevada Ave under the Interstate - I think it was mainly for FREX but it should still be there.

Ok. Sounds like a plan. Thank you. Though the freak out part may be a bit difficult. I am tattooed and pierced with a bit of an off-puting eccentric side from a physical standpoint. Haha. I was raised by rock 'n roll family. I have heard I may have a bit of a time meeting people in that area. Let's just hope I can get to work. ;P

There are LOTS of tattooed people here - perhaps more than not. Good luck to you.

Welcome to the area. You will want an old car that runs, or you'll wish you were in castle rock. I love the springs, but castle rock is one of the few other places with similar levels of natural beauty. My wife and I considered castle rock when we didn't know where work would be. (A hospital in the springs made the choice clear)

I'm pretty attached to having a car, because I like to know that I can control where I am going. If someone else doesn't show up, it's not my problem.

I hope you love it here as much as we do.

Just a question....how and why would you come here without a vehicle? If you are working in Castle Rock, you need to LIVE in Castle Rock. This is not a good city for the vehicular challenged.

It is if you live and work downtown. My girlfriend walks to work. We walk to the grocery store and to the many restaurants, post office, our bank, all within a mile of us.
