My wife and I are thinking about moving to Colorado Springs. Can you tell me how high the area is?

The airport is at roughly 6200'. As you go west from the airport, you're going gradually uphill until (obviously) you get to the foot of the mountains, and then it goes rapidly uphill.

Similarly, as you go north from the airport, you're also going gradually uphill. The Cadet Area at the Air Force Academy about 15 miles north of the airport sits at 7200'.

Officially 6800+ at our house, but it depends on what we're drinking at the time.

You and your wife are moving here? Swapping is legal above 6000 feet.
