Where I live now, kids can go to any school they want to regardless where they live. I'm wondering if this is possible in Colorado Springs. In other words, I've heard things about good school districts, but I don't think I can't afford to live there. However I do not mind takings kids to school everyday even if it takes a while. Can someone enlighten me if this is possible at all? If my kids have to go to where I (plan to live), I think I have to find a smaller home at good school area.

Yes it is possible. Last I heard it does cost money and it is not that easy if you are outa district. However, many districts give you the option of choicing in to any schools in their districts. Meaning if you live anywhere in the district then you can "choice" into the school you want for your child in that district. So, say that you live in Briargate, but you want your child to go to Discovery Canyon instead of Frontier, then you would apply for that school. The nice thing about Briargate is that homes range from $157,000 to $500,000+. I hope that answers your question...

Thank you for the quick reply. I understand it's possible to choose a school within a same school district, but is it possible to go to a school in a different school district? (e.g, I live in Falcon (d49?) and go to Frontier(d20?))

In Colorado, a student may apply to open-enroll in any district. Districts can set their priorities for open-enrollment. Schools can be closed to OE if they are full. There is no cost, but you generally must provide your own transportation.

Yep, here is the page for D20 that you can go to. It does talk about the open enrollment, but does not go into specifics.
