I'm an RN and my husband is an EMT, and we are looking to move to the Colorado Springs area from Central Arkansas. We need some place safe, with a reasonable cost of living. We enjoy the outdoors, would love a dog friendly area, and are environmentally conscious. I would love a community feel. What are some good areas to look at?

Rent: $800-1000, also would look at Rent-to-Own. We really need a single family or duplex.

We also would consider towns outside of the Springs, but would need to be within a 30 minute drive to a hospital.

I was also wondering about which hospital in the area is a better place to work. Are there any nurses or EMTs in the area with recommendations for places to work?

Use ppar.com to find rental homes. I found only this one in your price range; Fountain is a good area. For $1250 you can get this nearly new home that takes pets.

One may also use padmapper.com but beware of scammers on craigslist.

Look at post #36 in this old thread, it will list all the hospitals in the area.
