The crime in Colorado springs isn't much.. really at all.

Practically any area you're fine. Just don't go walking around on TEJON street on the weekends!

Is Tejon a big tourist area, downtown center of the city kind of thing? I'm imagining State Street in Madison, WI? I did google and found a bike rally weekend, which wouldn't bother us.

There's a number of bars there that cater to the 30,000 or so soldiers at Fort Carson who can get a bit rowdy. I haven't heard much bad news lately about that sort of thing. Tejon St is also home to many of our finer eateries and some nice shops.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the great posts! I am living here now, and in the NW side of town. Feels safe and is very pretty but not real neighborhoody for a single gal. I would like to live lower west side (or central, as mentioned near old town) but I have pets and couldn't find a place in my time span. This is fine for now as I explore the city. Thanks all
