Join the Gold Prospectors of Colorado club. If you own a placer claim....everyone will want to be your friend!

What a great plan. I'm a bit envious. If/when you make it out I'd be happy to give you a tour of the District. I now live in Colorado Springs but spent the better part of my adult life in Cripple Creek and Victor. I know the area intimately, as well as the people, and I still own a house in Victor. I get up there pretty frequently. It's a nice area with awesome people.

You'll love the area if you like that kind of history and are into prospecting.

Funny....you want to retire and go prospecting. I want to go prospecting so I can retire! Ha. You will meet an interesting cast of characters by joining the GPOC. As a retired person, you may even end up volunteering with the club as they teach panning to kids (and adults) at various events around the state. Good group of people who obviously share an interest in getting out and playing in the mountains on a never ending search for gold!

Hello there! I'm new to this site. My name is Nancy and I currently reside in Wa. State. My daughter lives in Victor. I'm planning on relocating to be nearer to her& grand kids. :-)
But I'm having difficulty locating rental housing. Any suggestions
Would be appreciated....

Nancy

Placer claim in Victor? Not sure that would be profitable at all. All the easy gold was pulled out of the mountain 100 years ago and there is not enough easy water to wash placer gold out of the dirt.

For rentals, using PPAR.com it shows a couple of them. There are a few houses for sale as well, but you may find more/better accomodations in Cripple Creek. Can't your daughter help you locate some units?
