Colorado Springs vs Fort Collins. Which city has the best hiking within a 30-45 minute drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FC has RMNP 40 min away... that is pretty tough to beat. Lots of public lands nearby...(local county trails) + Poudre, Buckhorn, and Big Thompson Canyons (West of FC / Loveland (Devil's BackBone / Masonville / Horsetooth)).

I prefer CS for EZ access to southern CO mtns (and skiing without Denver traffic). FC for ez access to WY recreation. (of which there is MUCH near FC. (Snowy Range / Vedauwoo / Saratoga / Encampment...)

Disclaimer... I do not know of the 'local' CS hiking offerings apart from River and GoG. I am sure there are many more as well.

Info on hiking in/around Colo Spgs. Yes, good hiking can be had WITHIN the city limits and in many nearby areas.

Having lived in both places I think CS is better for what you asked but both are good.

I have only lived in Colorado Springs, but am biased towards the Springs. You have beautiful Pikes Peak in your back yard.
Miss being able to go for a hike.
