Can anyone tell me how to find out what the average heating and cooling costs are (for approx 2000 sq ft house)?

I tried do a search of the other posts but didn't come up with anything for Colorado Springs.......The last of a tread on this same subject was in 2012.......Thought I'd tprobe for newer information.

Thanks.
Juan

IDK about prior threads, but this website may help you. It's all of our utilities, if you're in the city. I imagine they have some sort of calculator on there. They are also super friendly & helpful if you call them. Keep in mind that water is one of our most expensive resources, since this is a desert.

It used to be in the summer here your utility bill would go down quite a bit, even if you watered your lovely blue grass lawn twice a day (the 80's).

Now with all of the rate hikes for water (actually a GREAT thing) and gas your bills any time of year will be similar.

I still save in the summer since I have xeriscaped but the utility bills are still twice what they used to be.

Averages may be hard to estimate since we have house ages that range from 1870 to present they represent a wide range of efficiency. If you have a specific address, the CSU site and staff listed by msmetal may be able get you a historical record of that address. Or you can search the CSU site for residential rates here; https://www.csu.org/CSUDocuments/rat...esidential.pdf and compare against your current bills in VA.

As mentioned, your water usage here may be considerably more than it was in VA if you want to maintian a grass yard.

In one of those old threads I would go in and update my monthly utility bills and IIRC that info is current at least through the end of 2015.

01-30-2017 $286.79
12-28-2016 $269.09
11-28-2016 $230.21
10-25-2016 $184.74
09-26-2016 $242.12
08-25-2016 $252.02
07-27-2016 $253.45
06-27-2016 $33.88

My power bills are posted above, I moved in on June 24th 2016. My home is 2000 sq ft with 900 sq ft unfinished walkout basement. So about 2900 sq ft. Its me and my two college aged sons, that's water, gas and electric total. I have a/c and use it all the time in the summer. The utilities are really inexpensive imho.
